need help!

Okies - just bought a new laptop - I saw it as +ev (and it better make me win!)

however, windows vista is clever, and it won't let me install me slightly cracked copy of Microsoft Office 2003 Professional - therefore i have a million problems with my PTH

1) - i think i need to buy the fukin software again, coz i have it on two computers already.
2) - my existing database is in MS access (which is a fukin expensive program now that i can't have it for free)
3) - if the two previous problems were sorted i wouldn't have a clue how to just keep adding to my existing database

basically, i need help -
1) can i change the format of my existing database so it's in excel or summin? (coz i can get this on theOffice student edition for about £400 cheaper)
2) how would i go about linking the database to the new PTH etc
3) anyone know where i could get my hands on Microsoft Office 2007 professional for a "little" less than the list price?

http://www.openoffice.org/
is essentially a free opensource microsoft office.. includes a database thing so might make your access work again.

As for upgrading PT access database, its pretty standard to upgrade to postgreSQL, which you can find a guide on howto somewhere on the PT site.
Makes PT peform wayy better anyways! And it can hold more hands than an access database!

wtf is postgreSQL? yer - think i'll be on the PTH database for most of tomorrow trying to figure all of this out. Just lost £50 on a failed bit of matched betting - so want to play poker again. lol

lolz, its a database, not a spreadsheet so excel wnt work unfortunately... jack is right - u gots to convert to postgreSQL then export it and import it on ur new comp. you will have to pay for new PTH license tho to use it on new comp. dont steal office, buy the student version.

so many honnest people here, lol. yer - have got poker tracker for "free" because of the decent people who own it (free in the sence i have only paid once). am going to buy office pro with student licence ("only" £130 on ebay) - but do you still think i should convert the database into postgreSQL?

PS. not having poker tracker at the moment means no poker - probably quite good coz my work schedule has turned me into something out of 'one flew over the cookoo's nest' - lol

Olly I'd really recommend openoffice over microsoft office; although if you wanted microsoft office then buying it >>> than stealing it since microsoft have all sorts of crazy anti-piracy stuff that comes in with the windows updates!

Also tried to ring you earlier, give us a ring when you get the chance about the house, not sure if you got my new number 07972587655
